Oral Pathology
Semester 7

This course introduces the principles and foundations of oral pathology, focusing on the nature, causes, and clinical significance of diseases affecting the oral and maxillofacial region. Students will learn to recognize, describe, and interpret the pathological changes in oral tissues through clinical, radiographic, and microscopic features. Emphasis is placed on correlating pathology with clinical presentation to support accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning.

Key topics include:

  • Developmental anomalies of the oral and maxillofacial region

  • Dental caries, pulp, and periapical diseases

  • Odontogenic cysts and tumors

  • Non-odontogenic lesions

  • Oral manifestations of systemic and immunologic diseases

  • Precancerous and malignant conditions

  • Salivary glands pathology

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
